The City of West Haven is focused and planning ahead in case of disaster. Natural or manmade disasters such as hurricanes or different forms; such as terrorism require strategic planning, building public awareness, and the development of hazardous mitigation and emergency response plans. These plans are complete and ready for use if required.
Preparing our first responders with the necessary training, education and new equipment, as well as the development of community emergency response teams to assist in events such as a public health emergency has kept the city’s Homeland Security team busy over the past 3 years. Much has already been accomplished to ensure the safety of our residents during a disaster, and is continual work in progress. Preparing makes sense and we stand ready with our first responders to ensure your safety and well being in this great city.
